Lockdown 3.0 looks likely to carry on till March at the earliest. So now’s the time to get creative with ways to beat the boredom…

 

It already feels like January has lasted forever, however, February is a short month, so we will be in March before you know it. Until then, we are all looking for fun ways to beat the boredom and take a break from the news. So here are our top 5 creative ways to keep you entertained.

 

Wine Club

Have you got a love of wine? Have you always wanted to do a proper wine tasting session? Then via the wonderful power of Zoom, why not get a couple of friends together for a wine tasting evening? Online, there are plenty of tasting notes so you can do it properly. All you need to do is select the same wine from somewhere easily accessible for all of you and couple it with a side of cheese or meat.

 

Film Spring coming into bloom

This one is perfect for the long-run. Simply take a photo of the same tree, in your garden or while on your daily stroll, every day on the build-up to Spring. By the time it comes into bloom, you will have 50 plus photos ready to turn into a stunning time-lapse video using an editing app.

 

Cook the recipe on the back of a tin or packet

A bit random? Definitely. But how often do we ever use the recipe found on the back of a jar, can or packet? Today, grab the first jar, can or packet in your cupboard, read the recipe and create it. You never know, you may create your new favourite dish or something sweet and really yummy.

 

Start a diary

Do you have ten spare minutes in your busy day? Of course you do. Why not spend them writing your thoughts down into a diary? Not only is writing a diary a great release, but you will be able to go back to it in five years, or even longer, and remember the good times, bad times, and boring times in this, the strangest of times.

 

Learn an instrument.

Put down the remote, turn off Netflix, and pick up an instrument today. Have you always wanted to learn guitar or piano? You can order one online alongside a basic ‘how to…’ book, and using this, and online videos, you can attempt to become the new Slash or Elton John.
